ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
PROJECT 2
DEVELOPING SHAPES INTO FORMS
PROJECT 2A
RELIEF MODEL
In this stage, it is about enforcing extruded planes, shapes and textures. Based on the composition that I have produced in Project 1, I have done a mock up model.

MOCK UP MODEL
From the comments of tutor, there are something to improve in the mock up model:
1
its composition: should plan the composition
2
the hierarchy in the whole model (hierarchy in terms of height, size or solid/void); should choose one hierarchy among the hierarchies that I have shown
3
the ordering principle, datum; should show it in a more obvious way
After improvement, there is an obvious change in its composition as it is now more simplified if compared to the previous composition.
Organization is being included in the final relief model, which is Clustered Organization.

FINAL RELIEF MODEL
PROJECT 2B
CONCEPTUAL MODEL
In this following stage, it is more into enforcing solids and voids. From the relief model, I have extruded it into a 3D model but it is too literal as I only played with the height.

FIRST MOCK UP MODEL
Photos below shown are the second mock up model. It is now more abstract as compared to the previous one but it still could be improved in the final conceptual model by playing with ideas which have been shown in the abstract drawing in Project 1.

SECOND MOCK UP MODEL
After uncountable changes and improvements, finally comes the final conceptual model. It is now improved with clearer ordering principles, Datum and Rhythm and also organization, Clustered Organization.

FINAL CONCEPTUAL MODEL
Throughout the entire project, there have been tons of obstacles and challenges but still, I have learnt a lot from the lecturers and my tutor, Puan Noorseah. I would never forget what she had taught us, the three important things in Architecture: Hierarchy, Detail, Focus.
There is no right and no wrong in Architecture but it is about how we manipulate the things that we have learnt in Architecture.
